Here’s my story about how all this came about: I went to our local Sam’s Club this weekend looking for the “perfect” gift for my lovely wife of 42 years. As you can imagine after 42 years, 3 kids, 4 dogs, and lots of Christmases there are very few choices left…and I KNEW a new toaster was out of the question. So, I found my self looking at gift cards, specifically a Visa or MasterCard Gift card. But wait! They wanted to CHARGE ME $6.00 “activation fee” on a $100 card!? That meant the card cost $106.00! Then the merchant pays 2% to 4% for the privilege of processing the card? What Greed!
So, after this experience I got to thinking, How can we at American Legacy “buck” this greedy trend? (yea, I’m an “old school” guy) The answer is to SELL YOU ANY OF OUR GIFT CARDS AT 10% DISCOUNT! To say the response was more than expected would be this month’s biggest understatement. Folks, we were simply overwhelmed. But, every order got shipped the same day or the following day and our crew definitely gave 150% to get the job done. Where are the fishing pictures???
A very GOOD question! I think everyone is just really busy right now and e-mailing us fishing pictures has taken a back seat to making sure the little woman (or big guy) gets that perfect Christmas gift. I know in our household buying each grandchild a gift takes concentration and creativity, both of which my wife excels. Me, I’m still here at our store making sure every order gets out and every customer is completely satisfied. And “no”, I haven’t gotten through all my picture file either to figure out which pictures I would like on our Braggin Board.
