We just got these magnificent reels in stock and all we can say is OMG! The bar has been raised! Back in the 1980’s Shimano introduced the Calcutta Round Casting Reel. At that time it was an absolute revolution for reels with its smooth gearing, great balance, and almost “bullet-proof” function and design. It was expensive given most other reels were selling for about $50 to $60, but at $100 it was well worth the investment. Basically it was a “lifetime” reel. One that you could pass on to your kids and grandkids.
Now comes the Calcutta “D” reels and to say they are a revolution would be this year’s biggest understatement.
