Hi Folks,
I’ve got some really Big News in this newsletter, and I know you’re going to like it.
But first, if you don’t know already, we’ve (finally!) launched our new website.
The new site is better organized, easier to navigate, and – just between you and me – looks a hell of a lot better than the old site.
We’ve been working on this little task for about 18 months, so it’s safe to say that pulling the trigger on the new site was a real heart stopper. No matter how much you test, check, and double check, that moment of truth gave us more than a few sleepless nights. Fortunately, thanks to our entire crew and with all of your help, things went extremely well and the new site went on-line without much drama. Whew!
So now we’ve had over two weeks to fine tune the new web site and as we did this we started thinking just what got us to this point in the first place. Simple. It was Y-O-U! All of our wonderful friends and customers who have supported us over the years and offered direction and suggestions on what we could do to better to serve your fishing needs.
Which brings me back to the Big News. I know you’re going to like it.
Your No. 1 suggestion has always been the same: “Tom, can you do something about shipping costs!”
I took out my handy dandy calculator, grabbed some ALFC financial data, and set about figuring how we could reduce shipping fees, or make them go away completely. To my surprise it was all right there in front of me. Grow sales by “X” and we can cut shipping costs by “Y”. If we could grow sales even more, we can make shipping charges go away completely.
Wow, would it be possible to do that? Well, yes, but it quickly becomes a chicken or the egg question. Which comes first? Do we drop shipping charges or do we try to grow to a point where we can. Maybe that depends on how much you trust your customers. And if that’s the case the decision was easy for us. I trust our friends and customers. I believe if we do something good for all of you then you will respond in such a way that there will be no downside.
So I think you can see where this is going – without further ado, here’s the Big News:
Effective immediately American Legacy Fishing Company is offering Free Shipping to Any USA or Canada address.
No minimum order. No strings. No end date. No Coupons. No Promotion Codes.
This means that anything you order from us ships via ground Free. If you want your order sooner than the 3 to 5 days it typically takes to reach you, we’re offering Guaranteed-2-Day-Delivery Shipping for $15. Overnight shipping is $35. Doesn’t matter what you order, how big or small or long it is or what the order value is.
For those of you outside of the USA and Canada we’re offering Free International Shipping for All Orders of $500 or more *.
No End Date. No Coupons. No Promotional Codes.
(* There are a few exceptions for the Free International Shipping Offer: Coolers, tackle bags, float tubes, and rod racks are excluded. On these items we will be quoting shipping costs just as before.)
Now here’s where we need your help:
This will only work if you give us a hand here. Please take a few minutes of your time to help. We need you to:
- Spread the Word – Tell your friends and fellow fishermen about our New Free Shipping Policy and that for the USA & Canada there’s No Minimum Order, No Strings, No End Date. We give you Free Shipping and all we ask in return is that you Tell Your Friends and pass the word. Ask your friends to pass the word as well.
- Put this on your Facebook Page – Tell everyone you can that we’ve just save every fisherman some big bucks. Like us on Facebook as well.
- Put this on Fishing Blogs or Forums you Visit – No, don’t spam the blogs or get too excited, but please let folks know we did this and ask them to spread the word as well.
- Pass it on to Your Fishing Clubs and Fellow Anglers – Look, if I saw a great company like ALFC do this I would want all of my fellow fishermen to know. Now!
- “Tweet” it – I’ll admit I’m personally a little weak here, but those of you who are “tweeters” know what to say and do. Basically help us get the word out.
- Make American Legacy Fishing Co. Your FIRST CHOICE for Tackle & Gear – Yea, this is borderline begging, but I think all of you know we’re gonna’ need your business. I’m just old enough and outspoken enough to ask you for it!
It’s a huge leap for ALFC. As you might expect, FedEx, UPS, and the US Postal Service are still charging us the same increasingly higher shipping costs. But we’re betting that by offering free shipping our business will grow and that growth will offset the cost of shipping that we will be absorbing.
And we’re betting that you will be so excited that someone in the fishing tackle business has finally done this that you’ll tell everyone about it. After all, we know our friends and customers pretty well.
It’s pretty hard to top our Free Shipping announcement this week, but we do have some great stuff that we know you’ll be interested in. We’re Extending for 2 more weeks Our Annual Rod & Reel Trade-A-Thon with trade-in values of 10% to 20% more. This programs gets you your gear (and credit) immediately, so see all the details below and act now!
The Shimano Stella Saltwater spinning reels have been revised and upgraded and they are so much better than the old ones it’s astounding. We really didn’t think Shimano could improve these reels, but boy, were we ever wrong. They went up in price, but you really get so much more for your bucks. Be sure to take a look below.
Most of you are catch-and-release fishermen which we vigorously support. We know you’re good environmentalists. Lead weights and jig heads are poisoning our waters, one piece at a time. Tungsten weights and jigs are what responsible fishermen are now using and we have a great deal below to help you get into the swing of things. See below for details on our Eco-Pro Tungsten weights and jigs t-shirt giveaway. Maybe it’s a bribe, but it’s also a great deal!
This has been a very special couple of weeks for us. It’s times like this that we realize just how lucky we are to have such great friends and customers such as all of you. There’s no way we can put into words how much you’re appreciated!
Tight Lines,
Tom Ashby
