Fair Warning ~ Here Come 10% to 15% Price Increases………..
Let’s see if we can give you a simple illustration of what’s happening. As of January 2, 2010 the Japanese YEN US dollar was worth 93 Japanese Yen. Today it’s worth 81 Japanese Yen. Most other Asian currencies are costing 10% more dollars than a year ago. The Australian dollar was worth 89 cents a year ago, now it’s worth $1.02 USD. The story is the same pretty much for all currencies against the dollar.
What’s this mean? Simply put it means that our dollar is only buying about 90% of what it was buying a year ago. In Japan it’s only buying about 85% of what it was buying a year ago. This translates into a weaker dollar that overseas manufacturers will require more of just to stay even. To me and you that is called a P-R-I-C-E I-N-C-R-E-A-S-E.
We are sure that by June or July 2011 the price of almost EVERY fishing rod, reel, lure, and just about everything else will go up between 10% to 15%. If you have unlimited moola ($$$$) then it’s no big deal. However, if you’re NOT Bill Gates long lost son you may want to consider buying that new rod or reel or those baits, etc. ASAP. We know the fishing tackle industry and we know what’s coming. Fair warning…..
