Shimano Waxwing Jigs Now In Stock: One of the “hits” of this year’s ICAST show was the new Shimano Waxwing series of jigs. In fact, these jigs won “Best of Show” for hard lures this year. We can see why. With the “wings” on this lure the jig swims (or drops) side-to-side in an irregular pattern which has got to get any fish’s attention. And attention usually leads to a fish strike. At least that’s our take on it. So we figure these new jigs will have a heck of a lot more appeal than just saltwater applications. We can see using these for bass, salmon, steelhead, lake trout, walleye, etc. applications, especially given their “fish irritating” action.
There are 14 colors which when seen in person vs. on Shimano’s web site just knock your socks off. These are beautiful jigs and look as good as any Megabass lure we have ever sold. They come in two sizes: 3.1 oz (about 3 ½” long) and 4.1 oz (about 4 ½” long) and are packaged individually with corrosion resistant double hook. The smaller sizes are $17.99, the larger $19.99 I’m thinking about putting a treble hook on them for some freshwater applications.
