One of the most common suggestions we’re asked to give is for an ultra versatile cranking rod. When giving said suggestions, we have traditionally leaned heavily on either a G. Loomis 845CBR or a Dobyns 705CB. These rods offer a great moderate action with just enough backbone to handle some slightly overweight crankbaits/chatterbaits.
We can comfortably say that the new Victory Series “Power Target Cranker” will automatically work itself into our rotation of versatile crank bait rod suggestions. This rod offers a pretty big punch relative to how thin the diameter of the blank is. I would be confident in saying that this rod could handle up to a 5XD size crank bait while also having the length and action to fling out some more compact baits like a DT6, Spro Little John, etc.
