Braggin’ Board Pictures | May 20, 2012

Excellent 48lb Yellowtail

Evidentially the Sea of Cortez around Snake Island off Mexico is a great spot for yellowtail if this picture from Al Schneider is any indication. Great catch, Al!

Red Grouper

Gorton, a friend of Rob Rupsch’s shows off a good lookin’ red grouper caught recently out of St. Petersburg, Florida. Let’s hope he kept this fish which is so good to eat!

Speckled Trout Catch

Not only did Matt Brumwell send us this picture of a great speckled trout catch, but we got a fish taco recipe as well. Hey, it doesn’t get any better!

Intense!

You want intensity? Here’s intensity. At least that what Rob Rupsch’s friend Ken seems to be showing us as he goes after fish out of St. John’s Pass in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Beautiful rig, let's go fishing!

We always like receiving pictures of anyone’s rigs. Matt Brumwell sent us a picture of one very nice Shearwater outfit ready to take on any and all fish out of coastal Louisiana. Beautiful rig, Matt!

Landed the big one

Friend Kamal Al Sultan shows off a fantastic 28 lb. cobia caught recently on very light tackle off Kuwait. Kamal is justifiably proud of such a great catch. Bravo!

Awesome Catch!

Rob Rupsch’s friend Dennis shows just one of many fish caught recently out of St. John’s Pass, St. Petersburg, Florida on a recent trip. Did someone say “sushi”?

Excellent Walleye

What Gunter Van Ginneken calls a zander in Belgium we here in North America call a walleye. By either name they’re sure good eating and this nice specimen should make a fine meal. Yummy!

Great day of fishing

Talk about a successful day! John Salazar sends us this marvelous picture of a great day’s catch out of Venice Marina in Louisiana. 2 boats = over 120 redfish caught! This fish-catchin’ crew is Austin Salazar, Jason Salazar,  John Salazar Jr., Jennifer Powell, Jordon Powell, and Papa John Salazar Sr. Well done, gang!

Awesome largemouth

Guess what our Touring Pro Jacob Wheeler does on his days off? Yep, he goes fishing. Not sure about Jacob Wheeler’s sense of fashion, but no one can dispute his fish-catching abilities as evidenced by these two big largemouth. Nice. Very, very nice!

Beautiful Trout

Someday we’re going to figure out just how many different species Gunther Van Ginneken can catch out of that reservoir in Belgium. This gorgeous trout is just perfect for the table!

BIG Barramundi

Joseph Emma holds one BIG barramundi that measured over 40 inches caught recently on a trip on the Victoria River out of Darwin, Australia. Joe was using an E21 gold rod, Abu Garcia Revo Elite, and 20 lb braided line. Best of all, this monster was released to fight again. Way to go, Joe!

Beautiful Brown Trout

Al Schneider holds a beautiful 3 lb, 14 oz brown trout caught in Bridgeport Reservoir in California. An absolutely beautiful fish!

Did someone say lunch?

Our friend Matt Brumwell shows just how good the redfish fishing is on Calcasieu Lake in Louisiana. Matt used a G. Loomis GreenWater rod, Abu Garcia Inshore reel, and a 4′ plastic minnow to entice these guys. Note the 8 spot red in this picture – and he had 7 spots on the opposite side!

Just doesn't get any better

We keep saying “it just doesn’t get any better” and Matt Brumwell’s sunset picture over Trout Beach in Louisiana only proves this point. Marvelous.

Please, folks, send us some of your pictures. We’re not after trophies, just pictures of fish you’re proud of. It’s easy. Just attached them to an email and send them to us at [email protected] and we’ll do our best to get them in the newsletter. Send them in to us!
