Nice Smallies

Our friend Ed Smolen and his son display some very nice Lake Simco, Ontario, Canada smallies caught recently. Ed says there are bigger fish than these in this fabulous fishery!

Even at 7 years old Brayden Lind shows all of us “older guys” how it’s done with this very, very nice 23 1/2 lb Chinook salmon caught on a trip while fishing with Dad Jim just north of Interstate I-5. Jim says Brayden is now an avid fisherman! As we like to say, “it’s the “catching” that gets kids hooked on fishing”!

Willem Van Keppel caught this awesome 40″ Northern Pike all by himself while fishing with Dad Kurt on a recent July trip to Canada on the Winnipeg River using a Johnson silver minnow. Safe to say Kurt is one proud Dad!

Thanks to John Doolittle for sending us this great picture of his excellent Bolton Lake (Canada) northern pike. John and his gang of eight “Walleye Assassins” had a great trip and, if this baby is any testament, caught lots of BIG fish!

Donald Daywalt is obviously one happy fisherman with this nice Ohio River flathead catfish caught on a recent family excursion. This is really what fishing is all about, right?

Even though Gunther Van Ginneken had some of his prized gear stolen on a recent trip (this seems to be happening more and more) he still managed to “land” this huge Wels catfish while fishing in Belgium. You just can stop a true fisherman!

Our great friend Bob Bolger is a world class fisherman and sends us this great picture from a recent trip to the Togiak River in Alaska. This beautiful silver salmon was caught using a G. Loomis 8 wt. Experience fly rod and Togiak River Fishing Adventures (http://www.togiakriverfishing.com/)

Safe to say that walleye (zander) get pretty big in Belgium. Gunther Van Ginneken once again shows off a very nice example caught while fishing from his OutCast Float Tube. Very nice, indeed!

It looks like Lake Athabasca in the northwest corner of Saskatchewan holds some bodacious northern pike if bad boy caught by Dwight Hottle’s is any indication. This guy was caught this last June while Dwight was there on what was obviously a very successful trip!

Shane Rogers seems to have his hands full with this “not too small” shark hooked on a recent trip. Now that’s dangerous fishing!
