Shimano CORE 100Mg7’s are HERE!…………………….
Fishing Frogs, Alabama Rigs, Ripping, Flipping or Big Swimbaits? Looking for a reel that will last and preform without the typical problems you’ve had when using these baits or techniques? Think we might have a suggestion? You bettcha’! The NEW CORE100Mg7. These bad boys just showed up this week and they are B-A-D. In a G-O-O-D way, of course. Many of you have asked for a 7.0:1 retrieve ratio in this “oh so light” premium low profile made-in-Japan reel. Well, Shimano listened and actually made some improvements in this model over the “standard” CORE 50’s and 100’s to accommodate the toughest fishing techniques and baits.
First improvement is a larger HEG forged brass drive gear. This is more durable gearing and necessary when moving from a 6.3:1 to the 7.0:1 retrieve using the above techniques. More “guts” for those tough applications. Add to this the new, lighter Magnumlite (who thinks up these names?) spool, superfree bearings, and longer handle/power grip and you have a reel that will handle even the heaviest, toughest applications.
Specs are: 30 in. line retrieve per revolution, 10/110, 12/90 line capacity, 11 lb drag (max), 5 bearings, 6.7 oz weight. Only 100 of these New CORE100Mg7 reels were available from Shimano and we took a bunch of those, so for now supplies are limited. Price is $399.99 and the reel is only available in right hand retrieve. Like we said, if you fish flipping, ripping, swimbait, Alabama (umbrella) rigs, or Frogs this reel is for you. You can’t hardly go to any credible fishing blog or tackle test web site that isn’t all abuzz about this truly “Bad Ass” Low Profile “Big Fish” Reel called the Shimano TranX. Just Introduced G. Loomis GREEN NRX Rods Rock and We Have Them All IN STOCK…………..
We got a call the end of November from G. Loomis letting us know there is a NEW G. Loomis NRX rod. No, no new models, but a New Color. We would describe it as a deep Forest Green. Frankly, this is one good lookin’ rod with matching green wraps and all of the same components as the Blue NRX rods. Now we really like the Blue NRX rods, but we have to tell you that these green NRX rods are just beautiful. Never thought we would say that, but simply put, they are.
