We are experiencing a cooler than normal August here in normally steamy Southern Indiana (knock wood) with mild temperatures and gentle breezes. Our Pros have been on the water often and are doing great in tournaments although the first place trophies have proven to be somewhat elusive. I am constantly amazed at just how wonderful the fishing community really is. We have made so many great friends since we opened this business! Having a common interest surely contributes to this, but there is something much greater out there as well. We are all so blessed to have access to nature’s bounty and beauty every day. Being on the water at dawn, smelling the freshness of the new day, experiencing wildlife in its natural environment, and just getting away from the daily grind gives us all a sense of peace and appreciation for the non-material things that are really the most important. Reflecting on our family, friends, and God’s gifts to us is something we all do too little of, so when that opportunity presents itself we become better. I hope we in some small way contribute to this by offering the tools necessary to make these rare times memorable.

G. Loomis Introduces 45 NEW ROD MODELS……….
The G. Loomis factory continues to amaze us with wonderful new models. This year we have been even MORE impressed! There are 45 new rods due to be released around October 1, 2009 (fingers crossed) that are wonderful additions to what is already the world’s largest and best line of fishing rods. Here are the new models with complete specifications, prices, and our take on these “newbies”:
Swimbait Rods:
This new Swimbait rod was introduced earlier this year and is in stock. We needed a lighter power rod for those smaller swimbaits and now we have one. Great stick!
Crankbait “Deep Flex” Series:
Just what it says – deep flex. Backbone starts about the 5th guide from the tiptop. Another needed addition to the Crankbait Series of rods. This should be a “must have” rod for tournament fishermen.
Top Water Series:
Oh Boy! We can’t wait to start selling these awesome rods! Wonderfully light, responsive, and everything you would expect from a new series such as this. Try them, you’ll like them!
Jerkbait Series:
Another completely new series, these shorter rods should be wonderful for those fishing jerkbaits. Lots of control with plenty of backbone. Can’t wait!
Walleye Series:
This whole series has been redesigned. The non-GLX rods are about the same as those currently available, but look at all the GLX models! Now you actually have a choice for super-sensitive finesse styles when fishing walleye. Yea!
Muskie Series:
The Long Awaited Muskie Series has arrived (kinda’) and we have some of these now in stock. A year late, they are magnificent rods and unlike any others we have seen. The super power of these rods makes them a very desirable rod for the current Muskie fishing techniques.
Escape GLX Series:
Basically these two rods replace the HSR9000-3S GLX and the PR844-3S GLX travel rods. We hope this portends of the beginning of an expanded line of GLX travel rods. Bad news is the prices have increased by almost 30% over the older models.
Pro Green Series:
ICAST “BEST OF SHOW” for a saltwater rod! Absolutely AWESOME Series! All spinning rods. All lighter line/lure weights. Unbelievable strength! Perfect for flats, docks, shore, or just about anywhere you want to have some fun with smaller fish or larger ones if you have the time. Light as a feather as well.
Czech Nymph Series Fly Rods:
Check out the specs! 10 ft long, 3 and 4 line weight! Fast taper and EXTRA-Stiff power! WOW! I do believe you should be able to cast these rods several miles! Substantial skill set required.
RoaringRiver NEW GLX Stinger Series:
A nice upgrade to an already fantastic fly rod series. Truly the world’s BEST two-handed Spey rod – hands down already, this upgrade will make the unbeatable even better. Yea Rah Steve Rajeff!
Dredger Midrange Series:
We know very little about this new series. Pricing is yet to be determined as is final design such as the style handles. Right now delivery is unknown as well.

FIRST:
We Discovered this Patented Fishhook Removal Kit at ICAST this year and our first reaction was, “Why Didn’t I Think of That?” Designed and Patented by an emergency room physician in Northern Minnesota (who has seen LOTS of imbedded fishhooks in fishermen) this is a real MUST HAVE in Any Fisherman’s Tackle Box!
