LIBERAL TRADE-IN VALUES EXTENDED, SUNLINE, Megabass, BOGA GRIPS and more…….
Hi Friends,
Uh Oh, spring fever is here! Today it’s 65 degrees with warm winds out of the south. I swear I can smell the water. I keep looking at my favorite rod and reel outfit in the corner of my office wondering how soon I can sneak out and try for that big one that got away last fall. Surly it’s only a matter of a few days.
The good news is that the spring fishing season is almost here. The bad news is we’re supposed to get snow in a day or so. March here in Indiana is always an adventure. Anytime we hook up the boat or drive to a stream we just never know what to expect. But this doesn’t stem our enthusiasm or anticipation. It’s March and we’re going to get on some water! Stay tuned for pictures when I hook into my big trophy which I am sure will happen any day…
Good News! We are putting ALL MEGABASS SUNGLASSES on SALE at 25% OFF for the next two weeks. These are sunglasses better than any Oakley, Nikon, Costa del Sol, or any others in my opinion. I put on a pair when we first received them and haven’t taken them off since! Well, except when I’m in the store or at home or it’s dark.
This newsletter we have some great pictures, a super video on how to remove a BIG fishhook, a neat story of how a G. Loomis sweatshirt saved someone’s life, and another wonderful G. Loomis story from the archives.
We hope you enjoy this edition while you’re waiting for the snow to melt, the fog to lift, the rain to stop, or, for our Aussie friends, the drought to break. May you find the peace and tranquility that our shared sport of fishing brings to us all.
Tight Lines,
Tom Ashby
Megabass Sunglasses ON SALE at 25% off until March 15, 2009……..
Here’s a product we took a big leap of faith on knowing the quality of Megabass lures and rods. We should have known that what we received would be THE BEST and we were not disappointed. The optical clarity, comfort, quality of the frame, and every other aspect of these marvelous sunglasses is simply put, phenomenal.
We haven’t really “pushed” these Megabass sunglasses since they are very difficult to obtain and demand has typically outpaced supply. But, it is spring and we know that many of you may be considering investing in a high quality pair of specs. Simply put, these are “killer” sunglasses!
So, for the next two weeks we have cut our prices by 25% just to show you how sold we are on these. You will not believe what a big difference high quality, Japanese optics and workmanship can make. Look, you own the best rods and reels, have a nice boat, and spend your rare and valuable when you’re on the water. Why not have sunglasses that accurately show you ALL that is going on? Megabass sunglasses will do that better than any Oakley, Costa del Sol, Ray Ban, or any other make. Trust me, I know from personal experience. Get them while you can at this VERY SPECIAL PRICE. The prices you will see on our web site reflect a 25% discount of the normal retail price. Enjoy!
ENHANCED Rod Trade-In Program EXTENDED for Two Weeks (ONLY)……………
When we say “BIG” Trade-In values for your used rods and reels, we mean BIG! The response we have received in the last 2 weeks to our ENHANCED rod and reel trade-in program has been OVERWHELMING! We have had customers trade hundreds of used rods and reels in on new G. Loomis, Shimano, Megabass, Bogagrip, and more. So, WE ARE EXTENDING OUR ENHANCED TRADE-IN VALUE SPECIAL for 2 MORE WEEKS – Until March 15, 2009.
Here are just a few examples of trade-in values we have offered this past 2 weeks: G. Loomis GLX fly rods up to $400; Shimano Curado 100/200 series reels up to $140; St. Croix Avid series rods up to $120; G. Loomis GL2 rods up to $100; St. Croix Tournament Legend rods up to $190; Abu Revo Reels up to $100, and the list goes on…..
Any rod OR reel trade is given 10% more value than normal. Trade-in any St. Croix rod and we’ll give you 15% more than normal for this 2 week period. We just know that once you get a G. Loomis rod in your hands you, like most of our customers, will see just what you have been missing when NOT using a G. Loomis rod or Shimano reel.
How it works: Just go to our website and click on the Trade-In Program Box for all the details. Basically, you tell us what you have to trade, we give you a trade-in value, and if we agree we send you the new rod(s) and/or reel(s) along with return shipping label(s). Once we receive and inspect your trade-ins the deal is done. Now how can it be any easier?
Remember, these “enhanced” trade-in values are only effective for the next two weeks, expiring March 15, 2009. Just e-mail us at [email protected] or call us at 1-877-402-6350 for a quote.
Sunline PRICE INCREASE is on the way, but we are HOLDING PRICES so you can load up……….
All of you know what a BIG FAN I am of Sunline. Simply put, there just isn’t a better fluorocarbon or monofilament line made on this planet today. Every time I spool one of the Sunline lines I just am amazed how much better it is than what I had used before. Like the difference between a Yugo and a Ferrari.
If you haven’t spooled your reels with Sunline NOW IS THE TIME. There is a price increase of between 25% and 50% already released as I write. But, we have a huge stock of EVERY SUNLINE MADE and will hold our prices at the old, 2008 level until we have to reorder. You, dear fellow anglers, will determine when that is. The 2008 prices are competitive with lesser brands such as Seagar, Stren, etc. and the quality is so much better! Folks, get those orders in now. Don’t wait until your best buddy starts raving about “this new line” and you find out it’s Sunline, but have to pay the 2009 prices. Act now. Fair warning…..
BOGAGRIP: A tool that EVERY angler should have……………
Did You Know That Over 1700 world records have been recorded using the built-in Bogagrip scale! Amazing!
I first found out about Boga Grip from a friend who is a guide in Florida. There is just NO COMPARISON to any other “look alike” that is in the market today. The Boga Grip is a 100% made-in-the-USA Fine Tuned Machine that lands, handles, and even weighs fish with an IGFA certifiable scale. My opinion: An Absolute Must-Have IF YOU FISH!
There are 3 models: the 315 weighs fish 0-15 lbs and handles fish up to 30 lbs, the 130 weighs fish up to 30 lbs. and handles fish up to 60 lbs, and the 260 weighs fish up to 60 lbs. and handles just about any fish.
We’ll give you a 100% return privilege for 90 DAYS after you buy it. We’re that convinced that this is a “must have” toll for every angler. If you’re not as sold on this tool as I am just return it to us within 90 days and we’ll give you a store credit for the entire purchase price including return shipping. And NO, I don’t expect to get any of these little jewels back….
Buy a G. Loomis sweatshirt and save your life. A true story………..
Ok, here’s a weird but true story. One of my best friends, Mark Miller, an avid mountain bike enthusiast and sometime fisherman, was riding his bike in the Land Between the Lakes (between Barclay and Kentucky Lakes in central Kentucky) one day recently. It was after our “once in a 100 years” ice storm, so trees and branches were scattered everywhere making riding a true challenge. Now Mark is a big boy, maybe 250 lbs or more, so he has lots of power. But given the almost impossible conditions and the wet terrain it’s not too hard to imagine an occasional fall or tumble.
And tumble he did! Head over heels right on top of a fallen pine. If you recall, pine tree limbs break fairly easy and as they decay they form a very pointy end. Well, Mark happened to fall – HARD – on one of these very pointy ends sticking up to impale the careless rider. The point struck Mark just at heart level. Thinking he may have sustained a fatal injury, he was afraid to move even slightly. But, after feeling the cold, wet ground sapping away his body heat he twitched a bit. Then a bit more. Then he extended one arm, then the other. As he lifted himself off the potentially deadly limb he realized that the point had struck exactly on the elasticized “M” of the G. Loomis logo on his brown G. Loomis hoodie sweatshirt. That “M”, being a heavy, elasticized letter had prevented the pointed limb from puncturing the sweatshirt fabric, his skin, muscle, and heart and quite possible saving his life!
It’s doubtful that Dave Brinkerhoff and G. Loomis designed this sweatshirt for just such an occurrence, but comforting to know just how tough it is. Mark is convinced that had he been wearing any other garment he may have met the same fate as Steve Irwin did when a stingray’s tail tip punctured his heart. The moral? I think God was looking out for Mark, but He had some help from G. Loomis!
I just thought this was a neat story and wanted to share not only the story, but Mark’s good fortune with all of you.
