NEWS FLASH – September 27, 2009

 In over sixty years of observation and study I have learned one infallible fact about fishing and those who fish. If you think you will do good you usually do. Sometimes far better than you expect, sometimes a bit worse, but you usually meet or exceed your expectations. That’s just as true if you don’t expect to do good or think you may not succeed. Invariably we get what we expect most of the time. Life’s sort of like that as well.

 As a fisherman I like new gear, new lures, any new stuff that makes me feel I have just found “the secret” to having an advantage over the fish. These things create a wonderful optimism usually far above my typical positive demeanor. I always do better when I carry this optimism onto the water. Never mind that the 500+ lures I already own have produced that same feeling in the past. This is today! By golly, we have to keep current and these new lure models are “it”. No doubt the fish have seen all of those 500+ lures I have many times by now, so show them something new and success us guaranteed. Right?
 
Don’t you wish life was that simple? Buy a couple of new lures or a new reel or rod and catch life by the horns and ride into the sunset, successful and happy forever. Hey, it can be! Remember, it’s an inside job. It’s up to you. Believe you can, you will. Think you can’t, you won’t.

 On your newfound journey of enlightenment we may just have a few things that will help. Check out our new line of t-shirts, especially our “Fish with Attitude” shirts. Ignore the fact that the fish and yours truly may resemble each other, especially the cigar. Just enjoy for what it is. Is it a fish with an attitude or should you fish with attitude?
