New Rods From Daiwa & St. Croix Have Arrived!
We have received quite a few questions about when the new Daiwa Tatula Elite AGS and St. Croix Mojo Bass Trigon rods would be arriving, so let this serve as a definitive message that they’re finally in our warehouse and ready to ship.
There are four main features which put the Daiwa Tatula Elite AGS into serious contention for top honors amongst $300 price point rods.
- AGS Guides
- The high rigidity of the AGS frame offers extraordinary sensitivity relaying vibrations on the line directly to your hand. These AGS carbon fiber guides are now truly some of the lightest guides in the world.
- Developed to eliminate blank twist and increase power, X45 features a Bias Wrap Construction, left/right 45 degree carbon weave within the blank. X45 radically improves rod strength and durability by eliminating twist and preventing the blank from losing its round form. The elimination of this twist allows for a lighter, stronger and more powerful and sensitive rod.
- Airsensor Reel Seat
- A new Daiwa reel seat design made from Lightweight Carbon for ultra sensativity and a compact and comforatble feel.
- SVF Nanoplus
- Through the use of nano resin technology, SVF Nanoplus blanks are lighter and have increased sensitivity over standard SVF blanks due to their higher carbon density
21 Graphite Casting, 4 Glass Casting, and 9 Spinning models starting at $170.
That is what St. Croix’s Mojo Bass series of rods has always been about; Bringing tournament-driven tapers to an entry level price point. With it’s most recent rendition, St. Croix strove to bring a fit and finish to these budget-friendly rods in an effort to make them not only look good, but fish comfortably.
TRIGON’s design is based on actual anthropometric data of the human hand. “Our unique TRIGON handle recognizes that the human hand does not form a circle when closed. It conforms to the angler instead of the angler having to conform to the rod,” says St. Croix Brand Manager, Ryan Teach.
Teach explains, “TRIGON features a curved, triangular profile with a rounded inner apex and a flattened top curve. The results are a more comfortable grip so anglers can fish longer while exercising increased control to maximize power and accuracy.”
These are some really cool and legitimately innovative rod designs that we can’t wait to get out on the water to play around with. Pick one up and let us know what you think!
